Festive Garden Party, No.16 in our series #romancingthehome

This week we gear up for a new year! Celebrating this past year that might have been naughty or nice????

2018 has been a whirlwind for me! The start of many amazing opportunities and just when I thought I got this year waxed my best friend immigrated. 🙁 I am beyond sad and it certainly was not a great ending to what would have been one of the most amazing years I have had in a long time.

But alas…we pick ourselves up and keep going.

Back to the task at hand, Romancing The Home was one such opportunity that I am so blessed to be a part of.

This week we were challenged with a New years celebration set up, Lucky for me, TUIS/HOME magazine called, a few months ago after seeing my Alfresco lunch and privileged me with a full-on photo shoot that would also feature my garden. I mean how amazing is that!!!

So I am not going to bore you with all the details you can read all about it in the January 2019 issue!

However, I do want to share some behind the scenes.

Taking some ideas from the Alfresco lunch they asked me to figure out a menu for the shoot and with TUIS/HOME magazine being all about family and tradition we added a personal touch with some of my heritage food. I am part Portuguese and Lebanese, my mom is Lebanese and I was brought up with a strong Lebanese influence, food, family and church.

What a privilege to share this amazing opportunity with my mom and have a professional photographer capture that special moment!

All the food was prepared and cooked by my mother and I. The Food editor flew in for the day for CT and the entire day was filled with creativity and loads of fun!

We set up a mini gin bar that we got inspiration from my 40th party you will have to get a copy of the magazine to see how absolutely stunning it all looked!

My brother and his family joined us for the shoot and it just made the entire experience so much more special, even the white bougainvillaea above the table come out to show off!

All in all just an amazing experience. I hope you take the time to go get yourself a copy of the magazine all the recipes are featured in the magazine.

Well if this year is anything to go by, I am just so excited for 2019!

Blessings to you and your families over the holidays. Romancing the Home will be taking a break and we will catch up with you on the 4th of January.

Keep safe and don’t forget that, beautiful opportunities are just around the corner you just have to be open and willing to hold on tight!

More festive celebrations to be shared with these talented ladies.
